Elements of Design 

Line: A line represents the path between two points. 


Shape: The result of closed lines. 

Direction: All lines have direction- horizontal, vertical or oblique. 
Size: The relationship of an area occupied by one shape to another.
Texture: The surface quality of a shape- rough, smooth, soft, glossy. 
Colour: Also called Hue. 
Value: Lightness or darkness of a color
